Delivery to Hospitals

Not all hospitals accept flower deliveries please check before ordering.

For deliveries to hospitals please advise ward name and number. Please note that deliveries will be made to hospital mail rooms and cannot be delivered directly to wards.

You are advised that an increasing number of hospitals will not permit flowers to be delivered to certain wards, especially Intensive Care and High Dependency wards.  We will not accept responsibility for failed deliveries and no refund will be given under these circumstances.

Delivery to Business addresses

Flowers sent to business addresses, including schools, hospitals, military and office addresses may be delivered to a main reception or mailing room prior to internal distribution.  We recommend that deliveries to business addresses are requested for a weekday.  We do not accept any liability for non-delivery where the working hours of the business are outside the standard delivery schedules for our couriers.

Recipient not at delivery address

We are aware that the recipient of your gift may not know that the flowers are being sent. For this reason we have arranged with our courier to leave the flowers in a safe place (at the absolute discretion of the delivery driver) at the premises if there is nobody at home.

To help our courier, please include any additional information if you know of somewhere where the flowers can be safely left (for instance with a neighbour).  Obviously we cannot accept any responsibility for deliveries left anywhere in accordance with your instructions.

If your delivery is left in a safe place we shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise thereafter, however caused.  If no safe place is available (at the absolute discretion of the delivery driver) a card will be left with a contact number for the recipient to call.  They can either agree a convenient time for delivery or arrange to collect the flowers themselves from the courier's depot.  Each time an attempt is made, our courier will leave a card at the delivery address confirming that they have tried to deliver.  After two failed delivery attempts your parcel will be returned.  If your parcel is returned to us under these circumstances, no refund will be given.

If you are not sure that the recipient will be home and there is nowhere to leave them, why not as an alternative to home delivery, get flowers and gifts delivered to a work address instead?

How to care for your flowers

These simple guidelines will help you prolong the life and enjoyment of your flowers. Your bouquet is hand-finished by our florists and can be placed straight into a vase. To unpack, simply lift the inner cardboard cone by the handles and remove it from the box. Your bouquet is secured into the cone with elastic bands. Release these, open the cone and remove your bouquet. Check inside the box for any other gift items that might have been sent to you. To keep your bouquet fresh it is transported in a water retentive bag that can be removed before placing your flowers into a vase.

Vase Preparation

Cut about 3cm off each stem at an angle of 45 degrees using a sharp knife. Always use a vase that has been cleaned with a mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed with fresh water. This removes any residue from a previous bouquet that could contain bacteria that can block the vessels that carry water up the stems and cause your flowers to wilt. Your flowers are supplied with a cut flower food containing food for the flowers and biocide to control the growth of bacteria in the vase water. Dissolve each sachet in 1 litre of lukewarm water. Fill your vase as required with this solution and arrange your stems.

Find the best location for your flowers

Your flowers will last longest if placed in a bright, cool location 18-22°C (65-72°F) but away from direct sunlight, drafts and radiators. Avoid placing flowers near ripening fruit that naturally releases small amounts of ethylene gas that will make flowers age faster. Check your vase at regular intervals and top up with fresh water as required. If the water looks cloudy or has developed an unpleasant smell, it should be changed following the vase preparation instructions detailed above
